Our Story

It started with a quarter teaspoon of biotin.

One summer, I found myself making up a hard feed for my horse every single day for one very small reason — I wanted to give him ¼ teaspoon of biotin.

He has terribly brittle hooves, so biotin had become part of his daily routine.

At the same time, I was working with him under saddle and giving him treats every day as part of his training.

And one day, standing there making yet another feed, I had a thought:

Why am I making him a whole feed every day for something this tiny, while also giving him treats every day that have no real purpose?

Wouldn't it be great if I could just give him a treat with biotin in it?

That was the moment Nutrineigh started.

Treats with purpose.

The idea grew from there, but the concept has stayed deliberately simple.

If we're going to give our horses treats anyway, why not make them treats with purpose?

Nutrineigh Bites are horse treats made with carefully selected ingredients — easy to give by hand, easy to fit into everyday horse life, and still something your horse gets to enjoy.

Made here. Made small.

Nutrineigh is a small Canterbury business, built from a very real need in my own paddock.

Our Bites are handmade locally in small batches. They're not mass-produced, so you may occasionally notice small variations in shape, colour or texture from one batch to another.

That's part of making a genuinely handmade product.

We keep our recipes straightforward, choose our ingredients thoughtfully and make every batch with the same care we'd expect for the horses standing in our own paddocks.

No big promises.

Nutrineigh isn't about miracle claims or pretending there's one answer for every horse.

It's about making something simple, practical and thoughtfully made that fits easily into real horse life.

It started with one horse, one tiny scoop of biotin and one very simple question:
